Legal Method
Definition
The legal method is the basis for understanding and applying the various basic rules and principles. The term ‘legal method' includes two words: ‘Legal' and ‘method'. The word "legal" means something that has to do with the right, whereas the word "method" means a way or procedure to do something organized and planned. So the legal method is defined as how and how things are done with respect to the law in society.
Objectives
1. To lay the groundwork upon which other legal matters will be built.
2. To develop a better understanding of the purpose of law in society.
3. Improve the ability and elaborate on the facts of a given case and the reasons why a particular authority should or should not be applied.
4. Increase awareness, understanding and application of certain legal rules.
5. Improve knowledge about the various methods or techniques in which the law is implicated.
Concept of law
The law is very important to lead society in the right way. Laws are general set of rules for human behaviour that are accepted and applied by the state government for the society to work smoothly. The legal system develops a series of rights and liabilities of the state. Today, the entire world is touched by state laws. In the name of the rule of law in society, governments around the world enact laws for people.
Functions of Law
1. It provides justice and redress for those who have been harmed.
2. It defines and governs the types of relations between the individual members of the corporation.
3. It can be used to re-engineer any part of society.
4. It provides a mechanism for settling disputes and administers justice through the courts.
Objective of law
1. The primary aim of the law is to maintain order.
2. Law and justice are interconnected, the goal of the law is to deliver justice.
3. The law controls and protects human liberty in society to avoid lawlessness.
4. It is the right to dictate appropriate behaviour and are entitled to be obeyed because the leaders have been given the mandate to rule by the people.
5. the legal system is an instrument of social control.
Functions of law
